Abstract: During March 2000 the lower Muzarabani District (Zimbabwe) was a victim of the biggest flooding disaster in its history. The floods arose from the excessive rains accompanied by Cyclone Elaine. Similar floods in the following three successive years worsened community flood problems in the district.
